New monthly hippie-inspired theme brunch with free flow, lively music and performances, available third Saturday of every month, starting from 23 July
Peace. Free love. And flower power! Unleash your inner hippie with a rocking 60s outfit and feel empowered at a new, thematic, once-monthly weekend dining experience – Flower Power Brunch.
Presented by Chaiwala, Pirata Group’s colourful Indian enclave on Wyndham Street, feel all the Woodstock vibes amid psychedelic music, dance performances, free-flowing drinks, plentiful food, bright flowers, colourful lights, and a vibrant can’t-miss atmosphere every 3rd Saturday of each month, starting from 23 July.
The Flower Power Brunch kicks off with Indian street food staples such as Chaiwala’s signature Pani Puri with Jal-Jeera, Aloo Tikka Chaat – spiced potato cakes and Bombay Fried Chicken, all for sharing. Next, hailing straight from the hearth of the tandoors are three sharing tandoori options such as piping hot Classic Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Pink Salt Salmon marinated with peppercorns and pink Himalayan salt and tangy Tandoori-marinated Cauliflower.
A course of crave-worthy curries follows including favourites like Kerala Fish Curry prepared in a classic coconut sauce with fragrant curry leaves, Old Delhi Butter Chicken served in a rich tomato fenugreek sauce and Gosht Kofta featuring tender meatballs simmered in spicy and flavourful lamb stock. For vegetarian options, there is Yellow Dal Takda with mixed yellow lentils tempered with clarified butter, cumin seeds, garlic, green chilies, onion and tomato, Vegan Kofta Curry featuring Indian spices dumplings with kale leaves and tofu simmered in silky tomato and coconut sauce, and Saag Paneer with cumin and garlic spinach with cottage cheese. All curries are served along with basmati rice, and a basket of freshly made naan and roti in plain, butter and garlic flavour. The ideal accompaniment for these indulgent dishes and to soak every last bit of sauce.
Dessert is the best of Chaiwala Sweets, featuring the signature Chaiwala Carrot with rum and raisin ice-cream and Gulab Jamun, spiced milk balls served with yoghurt and topped with caramelised pistachio and pineapple.
The Flower Power Brunch includes 3 hours free-flow prosecco, wines, beers, gin and special cocktails created by Pernod Ricard Brand Ambassador and renowned Hong Kong mixologist Jade Lau, as well as the Chaiwala team. The two cocktails served in the free flow are the Maharaja Slushie, a unique take on traditional Indian Chai Tea and a light & refreshing Lillet Spritz with cinnamon infused Lillet and cardamom gin. Brunch go-ers also have the option to order the Mango Slushy and Taj Summer Spritz cocktails at an additional charge. Guests can also choose to upgrade to Champagne free-flow for a more premium option.
